O God of peace, who hast taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be our strength: By the might of thy Spirit lift us, we pray thee, to thy presence, where we may be still and know that thou art God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

-- From The Book of Common Prayer

For over thirty years, we at St. James have been feeding the poor out of a
vintage 1940s kitchen. Volunteers from St. James, our thirteen partner churches,
and three secular groups provide meals for the homeless, the mentally ill and displaced,
the working poor, the aged on fixed incomes, and transient families seeking work
and stability in our community.

The time has come to update our building to current health and building department
standards, so that we can continue this valuable work - and expand the scope of what we
do from a simple soup kitchen to a full-service community center for one and all.

To accomplish this, we need your help.
This is why we've launched the Soup to Service Campaign.
