Holy Matrimony
Holy Matrimony is pretty self-explanatory.  It is defined as "Christian marriage, in which the woman and man enter into a life-long union, make their vows before God and the Church, and receive the grace and blessing of God to help them fulfill their vows." (BCP pg.861)

Though the definition includes the words "woman and man" it must be noted that the Episcopal church has been on the forefront of inclusion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Christians.  In 2012 a provisional rite of blessing for same-gender relationships was authorized. We invite you to explore this and other information regarding LGBT inclusion by clicking on the below link.
